Description
Prolene Monofilament Suture, Blue, Size 4-0, 30", SH Needle is a nonabsorbable synthetic suture composed of an isotactic crystalline stereoisomer of polypropylene. This monofilament structure provides minimal tissue reactivity and smooth passage through tissue with reduced drag. The suture retains its tensile strength indefinitely in vivo, ensuring long-term support for wound closure without degradation.
The suture is dyed blue for enhanced visibility during placement and removal. Its nonadherent properties make it suitable for applications requiring delayed healing or skin closure where suture removal is necessary. Due to its smooth surface, tissue trauma is minimized, and the risk of bacterial adherence is lower compared to multifilament sutures.
